Event Details
This one-day drawing workshop explores the structure of the head and neck in figure drawing. We'll start with a brief overview of artistic anatomy, including the skull, surface muscles, and classic proportion systems, along with basic light and shade principles.
By understanding underlying structures, artists can draw with greater clarity and confidence, capturing both the visible and the forms beneath.
Participants will then draw from a skull model and a live figure, focusing on the head and neck.
Drawing is a meditative, personal practice—there’s no single “right” way to do it. This workshop offers tools to support your unique artistic approach, with most of the day dedicated to hands-on drawing in a relaxed, engaging environment.
Materials (minimal):
• Drawing pad - 9x12” or 11x14” (not too big, not too small)
• Drawing materials - graphite or charcoal pencils, mechanical pencil (whatever you’re comfortable with)
• Kneaded rubber eraser
