How often do you find yourself losing track of time while doom scrolling? How often do you click on your social media apps mindlessly, out of more than an impulse than for any specific purpose? How often do you feel that these habits are negatively impacting your mental health?
If the answer to these questions is often...you are not alone, and this is the group for you! More and more research is emerging to show the truly addictive nature of our phones and the social media apps that many of us spend exceedingly long periods of time on. Ironically, the technology and social networks that have the ability to connect us more than ever before are leading us to feel more disconnected and isolated than ever before.
Although many of us are aware of this impact of technology addiction, there are not many resources to handle it. This group is designed to create a safe, supportive, and fun space to be phone-free, connect with others while doing a tactile activity that engages senses that can't be accessed by scrolling on your phone. We will have a transparent discussion about the impact and feeling of excessive social media use, how to use the rise of technology and AI as positive resources, and strategies to stay off your phone more often. No matter your level of technology reliance, this is a healthy and supportive group to combat the impacts of having phones and screens so naturally intertwined in our lives.
